Chardham Temple Tour

"Char" means "Four" and "Dham" means "Abode". Charm Dham, the four holy abodes, are believed to be the abodes of Hindu gods and the holiest places of pilgrimage.  Among four Scared sites Kedarnath is dedicated to Lord Shiva while Badrinath is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. On the other hand, Yamunotri and Gangotri are dedicated to Goddess Ganga and Yamuna rivers respectively. 

Daywise Itinerary for Chardham Temple tour

Day 1: Delhi - Haridwar (210 kms / 5 hrs) Drive to Haridwar by road. (210 kms / 5 hrs). Lunch on the way. Check in at your hotel in Haridwar. Evening is free for you to enjoy the city on your own. Evening Ganga Arti at Har Ki Pauri. Overnight stay at Ganga Lahari. The package includes Lunch and Dinner. 

Day 2: Haridwar - Barkot (185 kms / 7 hrs) After breakfast drive to Barkot. En-route enjoys delicious lunch at wayside restaurant. Barkot is known for its spectacular views of snow-clad mountains all around. A mesmerizing view of the snow peaks of Bandar punch can be enjoyed from here. Dinner and overnight at The Chardham Camp, Barkot. The package includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. 

Day 3: Barkot - Yamunotri - Barkot (38 kms / 2 hrs, local taxi drive 7 kms / 1 hrs, 6 kms / 3 hrs trek one way) After early breakfast, we will leave for Hanumanchatti via Syanachatti. On reaching Hanumanchatti we will take local taxis for Jankichatti. From Jankichatti we reach Yamunotri to visit the temple of Goddess Yamuna, situated on the bank of the river. A holy dip is taken in the nearby tank filled by hot springs, Thereafter in the evening we return to Barkot. Dinner at The Chardham Camp, Barkot. Overnight stay in Barkot.

Day 4: Barkot - Harsil (151 kms, 6-7 hrs) After breakfast, we will proceed to Harsil - one the most beautiful valleys in the world. En-route we will stop at Gangnani for hot water spring dip. Dinner and overnight at The Chardham Camp, Harsil. Package includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 5: Harsil - Gangotri - Uttarkashi (105 Kms) After breakfast, drive to Gangotri (22 kms / 1 hr). On reaching Gangotri, take a holy dip in the sacred river The Ganges, which is called Bhagirathi at its source. Perform pooja & other rituals and relax in the beautiful environment. Return back to Harsil in the afternoon for Lunch. After lunch drive for Uttarkashi. Dinner at the Hotel, Uttarkashi. Overnight stay at Uttarkashi. The package includes Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 6: Uttarkashi- Guptakashi (212 kms / 8-9 hrs) After early morning breakfast, leave for Guptakashi (230 kms). Have your Lunch on the way to Guptakashi. Dinner at the Chardham Camp, Guptakashi. Overnight stay at Guptakashi. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner is included in the package.

Please Note that there are two routes from Uttarkashi to Guptakashi. 

Route 1- the drive is of 212 kms / 8 Hrs and can be navigated by smaller vehicles. This route can be taken by Tempo Traveler. Uttarkashi-Chaurangikhal-Lumbgaon-Peepaldali-Kirtinagar-Srinagar-Rudraprayag-Aagastmuni-Chandrawali- Guptakashi.

Route 2- The trek is of 280 kms / 10 Hrs. It can be used by all the vehicles. Uttarkashi- Dharasu-Chinialisod-Chamba-Zero Point( vis Bhagirathi Puarm)-Gadolia-Maletha- Kirtinagar- Srinagar-Rudraprayag-Aagastmuni-Chandrawali- Guptakashi.

Day 7: Guptakashi - Kedarnath - (32 kms drive- 1 hr / 21 kms Trek / 8 hrs) After breakfast, we will leave for Gaurikund (32 kms / 1 hr). After taking a holy dip at Taptakund, we will leave for our trek to Kedarnath (21 kms / 5 hrs). By the evening, we will reach Kedarnath Temple for Darshan, Aarti & pooja. Overnight stay Kedarnath. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are included in the package.

Day 8: Kedarnath - Guptakashi (21 kms Trek - 3 hrs / 32 kms Drive - 1 hr) After breakfast, we proceed our trek to Guptakashi with a stopover at Taptakund. Dinner at The Chardham Camp, Guptakashi. Overnight Stay at Guptakashi. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are provided.

Day 9: Guptakashi - Joshimath by Chopta (141 kms / 5-6 hrs) After breakfast, we will start our journey to Joshimath (141 kms / 5-6 hrs), one of the most striking sites on the entire trip. On arrival at Joshimath, in check in to your Chardham camp. You can explore Joshimath on your own in the free evening. Dinner at The Chardham Camp, Joshimath. Overnight at Joshimath. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are Provided.

Day 10: Joshimath - Badrinath - Joshimath (45 kms drive one way / 2 hrs) After breakfast, we will leave for our trek to Badrinath. After arriving to Badrinath, take holy Darshan and explore Mana Village. By the evening we will return back to Joshimath. Dinner at The Chardham Camp, Joshimath. Overnight at Joshimath. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are included in the package.

Day 11: Joshimath - Rishikesh  (254 kms / 8 -9 hrs drive) After breakfast, leave for Rishikesh and on the way have lunch at Srinagar. Restart and if time permits, visit Devprayag (The confluence of rivers Alaknanda and Bhagirathi, to become Ganga). Reach Rishikesh in the evening.Evening aarti at Parmarth Niketan. Dinner & Overnight at Aloha On The Ganges.

Day 12: Rishikesh- Delhi After a leisurely breakfast, visit Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula and different temples. Leave for New Delhi. (240 kms - 7 hrs drive). You will take back blissful memories of Chardham Tour. Breakfast and lunch are included in the package.
