Panch Kedar temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, or five shrines of Shiva are the most revered temples in Uttrakhand and known as Panch Kedar. According to Mahabharata, when Pandavas were searching for Lord Shiva, he turned himself into a bull to avoid detection. However, when Bheema tried to capture the bull, it disappeared and later reappeared in body parts at five locations, presently known as Panch Kedar.

The hump reappeared at Kedarnath, the arms appeared in Tungnath, the navel appeared in Madhyamaheshwar, the face showed up at Rudranath and the hair and head appearing in Kalpeshwar. The Pandavs built temples at these five places for worshiping Shiva.

Detailed Itinerary:-

Day 1:- Delhi - Rishikesh (230 Kms/6 ½ hrs) - Upon arrival Delhi airport, meet & greet then drive to Rishikesh. On arrival at Rishikesh check into the hotel. In the evening visit Temples, Laxman Jhoola and Triveni Ghat for Aarti Darshan. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2:- Rishikesh – Guptkashi (218 Kms/7-8 hrs) - Morning after breakfast drive to Guptkashi. On arrival check-in at hotel, an overnight stay at Guptkashi.

Day 3:- Guptkashi – Kedarnath (35 Kms/from vehicle and 18km by foot) - Early morning at 6:30 report to helipad. After performing Pooja and Darshan. Reach and later you will be transfer to hotel. Night stay at Kedarnath

Note: You can also visit Kedarnath Ji by trek (18 Kms /08-9 Hrs per side) Early morning you will drive till sonprayag (vehicles allow till this point) from here you need to please go through medical test and take local jeep/ Max to reach Gaurikund (3 km, on direct payment basis, approx INR 100 per person). Gaurikund – The trek start from this point to Kedarnath, which is long and beautiful man made trail. After reaching, performing Pooja and Darshan. Later check in at hotel. Night stay at Kedarnath.

Kedarnath Temple The 1000 years old temple with a carved exterior is located in a courtyard protected by Nandi bull. This spot has great significance in the legendary Mahabharata epic. Inside the main sanctum is one of the 12 naturally formed 'Jyotirlingas' of India. The temple has carved shapes of the Pandavas, and Lord Shiva.

Day 4:- Kedarnath – Guptkashi (18km by foot & 35kms from vehicle) - After breakfast, check-out from at hotel. Later trek down/fly down to Guptkashi. On arrival check-in at hotel. An overnight stay.

Day 5:- Guptkashi – Gaundhar – Madhmaheshwar (45 Kms from vehicle/02hrs & 17kms trek by foot) - After breakfast, drive to Gaundhar. On arrive Gaundhar later we start trek to Madhmaheshwar (17 Kms trek by foot) (here you take pony when you have an advance booking INR 4000 for both side per pony) on arrive check-in at camp. An overnight stay at camp.

Day 6:- Madhmaheshwar – Gaundhar – Chopta (17kms trek by foot & 54 kms/02 hrs from Vehicle) - After breakfast, check-out from camp. Than trek down to Gaundhar on arrive, later we start drive to Chopta. On arrive check-in at camp.

An overnight stay at camp. Madhyamaheshwar is the second temple to be visited in the Panch Kedar pilgrimage circuit, comprising five Shiva temples in the Garhwal region. The other temples in the circuit include: Kedarnath, Tungnath, Rudranath and Kalpeshwar. The middle (Madhya) or belly part or navel (nabhi) of the bull, considered a divine form of Shiva, is worshiped at this temple. It is a Hindu temple located in the Mansoona village of Garhwal Himalayas, at an altitude of 3625 meters above sea level in Uttarakhand, India.

Day 7:- Chopta – Tunghnath – Sagar (3.5 by trek per side/ 27kms/01 from vehicle) - After breakfast, check-out from camp. Later we start trek to Tunghnath (here you take pony, easily available INR 1000 – 1500 for both side per pony), on arrive Tunghnath Ji temple. After performing Pooja and Darshan. Then down the trek for Chopta. Later we drive to Sagar, on arrive check-in at hotel. An overnight stay.

Tungnath is the highest Shiva temple in the world and is one of the five and the highest Panch Kedar temples located in the mountain range of Tungnath in Rudraprayag district, in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The Tungnath (literal meaning: Lord of the peaks) mountains forms the Valleys of Mandakini and Alaknanda rivers. Located at an altitude of 3,680 m (12,073 ft), and just below the peak of Chandrashila, Tungnath temple is the highest Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is believed to be 1000 years old and is the second in the peaking order of the Panch Kedar.

Day 8:- Sagar – Panar Bugyal (12kms steep trek) - Today after breakfast, check-out from hotel. Later we do very steep trek to Panar Bugyal (here you take pony when you have an advance booking INR 4000 for both side per pony), enroute we do packed lunch, on arrival check-in at Camps. An overnight stay. Panar Bugyal offers Majestic and real close up views of the snow clad peaks of Mighty Trishul, Maa Nandadevi, Dronagiri, Hathi and Ghodi and other peaks. The way from Panar to Rudranath is a stretch of beautiful Alpine meadows for kilometres.

Day 9:- Panar Bugyal Rudranath  Panar Bugyal – Sagar (8kms trek) - Morning trek up to the temple of Sri Rudranath, another form of lord Shiva. In this temple, the face of the Shiva is worshiped. You can also visit the Suryakund, Chandrakund, and Tarakund which is located nearby the temple, back to Panar Bugyal then trek down to Sagar. On arrive check-in at hotel, an overnight stay.

Rudranath is a Hindu temple dedicated to god Shiva, located in the Garhwal Himalayan Mountains in Uttarakhand, India. Located at 3,600 metres (11,800 ft) above sea level, this natural rock temple is situated within a dense forest of rhododendron dwarfs and Alpine pastures. The face (mukha) of god Shiva is worshipped as “Nilkanth Mahadeva” here. Literally, the word ‘Rudranath’ means ‘Him who is Angry’. The temple is surrounded by a number of pools – Surya Kund, Chandra Kund, Tara Kund and Manas Kund – while the great peaks of Nanda Devi, Trishul and Nanda Ghunti rear overhead. It is the toughest trek to reach as compared to other Panch Kedar dham of Lord Shiva. Devotees generally take bath in the Narad Kund prior to visiting the temple

Day 10:- Sagar – Helang – Urgam – Kalpeshwar – Urgam – Pipalkoti - After breakfast, drive to Kalpeshwar by Urgam village (Urgam Valley is famous for its apple orchard, terraced fields and potatoes) the vehicle will stop before the bridge, because the road exits here. Then we will going to Shiva temple approx 01km walking distance. The locks (hair) of lord Shiva worshiped in this temple. From here you will have the striking views of valley with terraced fields and lush green forests. Later return trek to Urgam. Then drive to Pipalkoti and overnight stay at Pipalkoti.

Kalpeshwar is the last and fifth temple in the list of Panch Kedar pilgrimage circuit and it is the only temple of the sacred Panch Kedars that remains open 12 month of the year. The matted hairs or Jata or Lord Shiva are worshipped inside this Cave.

Lord Shiva is worshipped in the form of matted hairs at Kalpeshwar and the trail to this sacred shine goes through thick forests and lush green terrace fields. There is also an old Kalpvriksha tree here which is said to be the wish-granting tree in Hindu mythology.

Day 11:- Pipalkoti – Badrinath (75kms/3hrs) - After breakfast, check-out from at hotel. Later drive to Badrinath, on arrive check in at hotel.

Evening: Visit at Badrinath temple. If time permits, only if night stay in Badrinath. Badrinath temple  It's so great to take in the way that this sacrosanct destination which is being dedicated to Lord Vishnu has been committed to humankind.

Day 12: Badrinath – Rudraprayag (160 Kms / 06 Hrs) - After bath in the Taptkund visit & Darshan of Badrivishal. Brahamakamal is significant for Pinddan Shraddh of ancestors (Pitrus). There are other interesting sightseeing spot like Mana, Vyas Gufa, Maatamoorti, Bhimkund and the "Mukh" of the Saraswati River. Just within the three kms of Badrinathjee Later drive to Rudraprayag. On arrive check –in at hotel and night stay.

Day 13: Rudraprayag – Haridwar (280/165 Kms /06 hrs) - After breakfast, check-out from at hotel. Later drive to Haridwar, on arrive check-in at hotel. An overnight stay. Haridwar is one of the holiest places in India, sacred to the Hindus and draws thousands of pilgrims and tourists from all over the world.

It is the place where the Ganges exits the Himalayan foothills and is worshipped for her purity. The Hark Ki Pauri is the most popular bathing Ghats which also hosts the Ganga Aarti daily at 6:30 p.m. after sunset. Thousands of pilgrims flock the banks of the Holy River to witness the Aarti and seek the blessings of Mother Ganges. Small lamps lit on leaves are let out to float in the river from the banks, making it a beautiful sight. Day

14:- Haridwar – Delhi (215kms/ 06hrs) - Breakfast at hotel, check out and drive to Delhi, on arrive you will transfer to airport to board your flight.
