02-Thirumeyyam - Sri Sathyagiri Natha Perumal Temple Divya Desam
Sri Sathyagiri Natha Perumal Temple is located at Thirumayam, Pudukottai district of Tamil Nadu. This Sri Sathyagiri Natha Perumal Temple is revered as one of the 108 Divya Desam temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu and also named as ‘Thirumeyyam’. The presiding deity of this Sri Sathyagiri Natha Perumal Temple is Lord Sathyagiri Nathan (Lord Vishnu) also called as Lord Sathya Murthi, stands at a height of seven feet on a rock, along with His consorts. There is a sculpture of Lord Vishnu in sleeping posture called Ari Thuyil, sleeping with a sense of knowing what is going on at present.
The other deities of this Sri Sathyagiri Natha Perumal Temple are Lord Meyyappar perumal, Lord Narasimhar, Goddess Ujjeevana, Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Ramar, Goddess Sita, Lakshmana, Lord Krishna, Lord Anjaneya, Chakratazhwar, Goddess Andal, Garuda (the mount of Lord Vishnu), and Azhwars. This is the temple which locates the largest statue of Lord Vishnu in reclining pose, which is called as ‘Anantasayanam’, In India.
