Ranjangaon is a village located at a distance of about 50 km from Pune, en route to Shirur in Maharashtra, and it houses a shrine to Mahaganapati .The Mahaganapati is considered to be one of the Ashtavinayaka shrines of Maharashtra, celebrating eight instances of legends related to Ganesha
The idol of Lord Ganesha is "Swayambhu" (self created ).
Ranjangaon is around 55 kms away from Pune.
The original idol was very big but was hidden to prevent its destruction and now a days smaller idol was installed instead.
After worshiped Shri. Ganesh, Lord Shiva defeated Tripurasura , in gratitude Shiva established a Maha Ganpati at Ranjangaon.
