Artillery Centre : Behind the Pandav Caves, is the biggest Artillery Center in Asia. This artillery center was shifted from Pakistan in 1947, and is now completing its 50th year. The Indian army's officers and soldiers are trained here. Training for 'Bofors Gun' is given here. The area is under military and is restricted for civilians.
Nandur Madhmeshwar :- Through ceaseless efforts of Bombay Natural History Society, World Wildlife Fund and Forest Department of the Government of Maharashtra, this sanctuary which houses more than 220 species of birds, 400 species of vegetation, 24 species of fish and several smaller mammals came into existence along the Nandur Madhameshwar dam at the confluence of Godavari and Kadwa. Spread over the protected area of 10000 hectares, lies the core area of 1765 hectares, where the large variety of water birds,resident and migratory birds congregate in season. It is now counted as one of the important water fowl habitats in the region by the International Union of Conservation of Nature. Aptly called Maharashtra's Bharatpur developed since 1950 is favorite birdwatchers wetland area surrounded by fields of sugarcane, grape orchards. Large lake & islands abound with aquatic vegetation making it paradise for thousands of migratory birds, Ibises, Storks & variety of colorful water birds. The Madhmeshwar Temple on the river features prominently in Hindu mythology. Lord Ram is said to have killed the golden deer or Suvarnamrug at the spot where the temple stands today. The area around the lake is rich with fossils & visitors can find interesting pieces of these fascinating rocks scattered about. Ideal season to be here is from October to March.
Saputara: This famous hill station equipped with adequate facilities is on the border of Maharashtra & Gujrat State. Different hill points for sunrise & a sunset makes this ideal tourist destination.
Bhandardara & Kalsubai Peak: Bhandardara 750 meters above the sea level surrounded by Deep Valley, Large Dam, Great Lake, Roaring Water Falls, Historical Fort and an Ancient Amruteshwar Temple is tourist paradise. Wilson Dam one of the very few Dams constructed at such a height, encircled by a flock of Sahyadri hills is Lake Arthur one of the largest in India. The Amruteshwar Temple 9 Kms in the interior of lake Arthur known for its beautiful carvings can be traced down 1200 years back in history and the Ratangad Fort is dear for mountaineering & trekkers is one of the favorite Forts of the great historical legendry son of soil Shree Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj (King).Overlooking Bhandardara is Kalsubai highest peak of Maharashtra kissing the sky at 1646 meters. The Konkankada at Ghatghar 22 Kms away measuring 361.79 Sq.Kms is another picnic spot with panoramic view & declared as wild life sanctuary. The Average rain fall is 3000 is a pleasant place to visit throughout the year. Ghatghar has unique geographical identity as you can observe a Day of Ghatghar is only of Four hours.
Veer Savarkar Smarak Bhagur :- Bhagur is the birth place of the freedom fighter, Swatanrya Veer Savarkar and hence it has gained historical importance. There is also a beautiful temple of "Bhagur Devi" Bhagur is situated 3 km away from Deolali Camp and 17 km from Nashik road.
Coin Museum:
The Indian Institute of Research in Numismatic Studies Established in 1980 & located in the scenic surroundings of Anjneri Hill is one of its kinds in Asia. Extensive archive of Indian Currency, photographs, articles, line drawings, replicas & a well-documented researched history of Indian currency that existed in India down the Centuries makes Coin Museum a place worth to visit. The institute has also preserved One Lac cardexes for easy reference. It has become the global destination for tourist for study & research. Deolali Camp :- Deolali Camp is one of the country's oldest Indian military centres, and is located 16 km away from Nashik. The area is surrounded by gardens, playgrounds and wide roads and has an interesting market. A Temple Hill, Khandobachi Tekadi, nearby is worth visiting. The tranquil nature of this military township made it an obvious choice as a convalescing centre for stressed out British soldiers, during the British Raj.
Panchavati :- At this spot, the river Godavari flows around five Banyan (Vad) trees, and hence the name - Panchavati. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shri Ram, Sita and Laxman are believed to have stayed here for some time. Nearby is Sita Gumpha (cave) where Sita is believed to have stayed during here exile.
Takli :- Takli is the birthplace of saint Samarth Ramdas, Chatrapati Shivaji's guru. Ramdas was a bachelor, who promoted the Hindu religion and preached the doctrine of simple living and high thinking. Takli is also home to one of the largest golf courses in Asia.
The Sula Vineyards are situated about five miles (eight kilometers) southwest of Nashik and are open to tourists. This is one of India's pioneer vineyards, which launched its first wines in 2000; today the winery produces white, red, rosé, dessert, and sparkling wines. There is a stylish tasting room with views over the vineyard.
