Baramati is a city and a municipal council in Pune district in the state of Maharashtra, India.Baramati is 99 Km by road and 120 km by rail from Pune, which is connected by daily air services to Mumbai and Aurangabad. Many Sugar factories are been set up in this area.
The main occupation of the people is Agriculture. Wheat and Jawari, Sugarcane, Grapes & Cotton are the main crops grown over here. Grapes and Sugar is exported from here. There is a huge Market place for cotton and food grains.
Shivleelamrut the holy book belongs to this place. Famous poet Sridhar wrote this book. There are many more religious temples in and around Baramati. Baramti was under Yadav's rule, which was later taken over by Bahamani rulers. Sidheshwara temple was constructed by famous Bapuji Naik.
Baramati uses 800 hectares of land as MIDC (Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation) Industrial Area along Baramati-Bhigwan Road, 5 km outside Baramati town's municipal limits.
